Bright Lettins is a city in the Nest Hardings region of Munchkinland which replaced Center Munch as the capital of Munchkinland, specifically serving as the seat of government under the Eminenceship of La Mombey Impeccata.
Description[]
From a distance, Bright Lettins looks like a huddle of children's building blocks: roofs of scalloped tile, blue or plum in color. Within the city, many of the buildings are made of stone-covered stucco, painted in shades of grey and sand. Many of the structures are joined by arches over the streets, creating a series of outdoor chambers, squares funneling into allées debouching into piazzas.
The buildings ran to three and a half stories, though since they are Munchkinlander stories, they weren't very high. Because of this, taller individuals and Animals had to use side entrances marked "OTHERS". As such, the only place where Animals could reside in Bright Lettins was at A Stable Home, an Animal hostelry in a shabby neighborhood.
History[]
Bright Lettins replaces Center Munch as the new capital city of Munchkinland under the Emineceship of La Mombey Impeccata, though she still resided at the original Thropp estate, Colwen Grounds.
Dorothy Gale’s trial for the murders of Nessarose and Elphaba Thropp is held in Bright Lettins, the Munchkinlanders calling it "regicide." Dorothy is imprisoned against her will and is used as a mere scapegoat who was left accountable for the deaths of the two Thropp sisters who died decades prior; a distraction for Mombey’s plan to attack the Emerald City. The court finds Dorothy guilty of all charges, and she is sentenced, however, Brrr, aka the Cowardly Lion comes to her aid and rescues her from a harsh sentence and gets her out of Munchkinland.
It is unknown if the seat of government moves back to Center Munch as the capital after Mombey's defeat and Munchkinland's reentry back into Loyal Oz.
