Burden (formerly referred to as His Magnificence the Bvasil) was the ruler of the nation of Maracoor Abiding, managing the bureaucratic government from the capital city of Maracoor Crown.
Before his abdication, he was known to only make public appearances rarely, and always from a gilded, veiled sedan chair atop a palanquin carried by servants.
In The Oracle of Maracoor, the Bvasil, along with his chronicler, Tycheron, faked their deaths and escaped the city after Skedeland attacked the capital. Now going by the name, Burden, the two posed as uncle and nephew and began a pilgrimage to High Chora hoping to locate the Oracle of Maracoor in the hour of Maracoor’s need, as well as get the Fist of Mara out of the city. The two end up meeting Lucikles and his family in High Chora, and after getting Rain and company in tow, all of them travel to the Tower in the Clouds and meet the Oracle, who makes Burden fly away in his hot air balloon to rid the country of the Fist of Mara and save his people, therefore abdicating his role as Bvasil.
