Crope and Tibbett are two supporting characters exclusive to the novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of The West.
Both are friends of Boq, who he meets while working a summer job at the Three Queens Library and it is heavily implied that they are both gay. They are both from the Emerald City, are flamboyant, and enjoy drama.
Crope[]
Crope is the son of an Emerald City tax collector and a student at the Three Queens school at Shiz University.
Biography[]
While attending Shiz University, he and Tibbett help out Boq and Elphaba in their research for Dr. Dillamond over the summer, and he later joins the main group of friends. He also attends Ama Clutch's funeral.
After college, he is mentioned to now be an actor and is managing an arts auction house. He and Glinda also seem to have become close friends, as he is seen shopping with her in the Emerald City and having tea together with Fiyero.
Tibbett[]
Tibbett is the son of an Emerald City palace security adviser and a student at the Three Queens school at Shiz University.
Biography[]
While attending Shiz University he and Crope assist Boq in his helping Elphaba Thropp in her research for Dr. Dillamond and he joins her inner circle of friends. When the group goes to the Philosophy Club, he is chosen for a sex show with a Tiger.
An adult Tibbett is brought into the Cloister of St. Glinda with an incurable disease. It is never revealed what this illness is or how he got it, though it is implied he may have contracted it from the Tiger those years prior.
Before dying, he encourages Elphaba, then a maunt (nun) at the cloister, to choose her own path in life, which is what makes Elphaba leave to seek out Fiyero's family in The Vinkus.
